IRN556: New single-board computer with Intel APUs.
The DFI INR556 is a highly compact, 1.8-inch industrial single board computer designed for space-constrained, high-performance embedded applications. As an alternative to the Raspberry Pi that works with Windows, the INR556 is very versatile.

The DFI INR556 is a new single-board computer featuring one of several Intel processors or APUs. These include the Intel Atom x7211RE, x7433RE, x7835RE, Intel N150 and the Intel Core 3 N355. RAM consists of a DDR5 module of up to 16 GB with a maximum clock speed of 4,800 MHz, as opposed to the 8 GB of the Raspberry Pi.

The 146 × 102 millimeter board includes several M.2 slots. This includes an M.2 2242 port, which can be accessed via two PCIe 3.0 lanes and SATA 3.0, an M.2 3052 slot, also via one PCIe lane, and an M.2 2230 slot, which supports Key E format cards, USB 2.0 and one PCIe lane. A nano-SIM card slot is also on board, allowing for mobile network connectivity.

A HDMI port supports image output at 4096 × 2160 and 24 Hz. LVDS also allows for image output at up to 1920 × 1200 at 60 Hz. Network connectivity is provided via two Gigabit Ethernet ports. USB 3.2 is also available for connecting external storage devices. The board does not include a typical 40-pin header like those found on the Raspberry Pi, but it does offer RS232/422/485 interfaces and GPIO connectors for external sensors and actuators. Thanks to the use of standard processors, Windows can be used, as well as various Linux distributions.

Information on price and availability is still pending.
