FriendlyElec has updated the NanoPi series with a tiny new single-board computer (SBC). Available for under $25 with LPDDR4 RAM, the NanoPi Neo3 Plus also measures just 48 x 48 mm and weighs around 20 g.

FriendlyElec has updated the NanoPi series with the Neo3 Plus. Following on from last year's R76S (curr. $84.99 on Amazon), the Neo3 Plus maintains the R76's compact form factor while hitting a much lower price point.

To achieve this, Friendlyelec has included a Rockchip RK3528A chipset with just four ARM Cortex-A53 CPU cores and a Mali-450 GPU at its disposal. Also, the Neo3 Plus drops to a single Gigabit Ethernet port with a microSD card reader, a USB 3.0 Type-A port and a USB 2.0 Type-C port. For reference, the Neo3 Plus requires 5V/2A for power, which can be pulled from its Type-C port or its 26-pin GPIO header.

Moreover, FriendlyElec has included connectors for attaching stereo speakers, as well as a 5V fan header, debug UART and an eMMC socket. The 48 x 48 mm and 21.5 g board also includes red and green LEDs plus a 2-pin RTC connector. According to the company's wiki, the Neo3 Plus supports multiple Linus 6.1 LTS forks, including Debian 13 Core and Ubuntu Core 24.04.

The NanoPi Neo3 Plus starts at $24 with 1 GB of RAM but no eMMC flash storage. Alternatively, FriendlyElec offers its new single-board computer (SBC) for $32 with the metal case pictured below. The company offers 64 GB and 256 GB eMMC modules at checkout for $23 and $61, respectively. Please see FriendlyElec's website for more details.
