MS has taken a good look at the Beta users’ feedback, and responded well.

The release candidate of Windows7 is expected to be available by the middle of April with about 36 new features. Actually it was supposed to release later last month, but due to the overwhelming response from the Beta testers (about half-a-million feedback) has prompted Microsoft to decide this time around to give the feedbacks a reasonable consideration, and so they probably had to postpone the date to April.

"We've been quite busy for the past two months or so working through all the feedback we've received on Windows 7," explains Steven Sinofsky, Lead Engineer for Windows 7 to PCPro,"It should be no surprise but the Release Candidate for Windows 7 will have quite a few changes, many under the hood, so to speak, but also many visible."

Most of the new features are user interface tweaks, which should add up to a much smoother Windows 7 experience – as reported by PCPro. Some of these features are,

  • Aero-peek to make all the active windows transparent for one to look at the applications running beneath.
  • WMP will now only add the content it can play and filter-out the other.
  • Streaming is breezier.
  • The flashing animation notification for incoming messages will now beep 7 times instead of earlier 3.
  • You can now pin anything to the jumplist, not just the files the program can handle.
  • Before one has to open the whole power option menu to switch to full power mode, now it can be accessed by right-clicking the battery icon.
