MSI details X-Slim X600 notebook

MSI X600 will be available in two variants
MSI X600 is a part of the flagship ultrathin X-Slim series of notebooks that have been touted to compete against the likes of MacBook Air. MSI had earlier released only teasers of the specifications for this notebook, but, exact specifications of this notebook have just been released. This model is based on the CULV (Consumer Ultra Low Voltage) platform.
The MSI X-Slim X600 notebook will be available in two variants: one will be powered by a 1.4GHz Intel Core2 Solo SU3500 processor with 4GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive for storage, while the other variant will run on a slower 1.2GHz Intel Celeron ULV 723 processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 320GB hard drive. The later variant doesn’t have built-in Bluetooth. The common features of both the variants are as follows:
· 15.6-inch WXGA glossy screen with 1366x768 resolution and aspect ratio of 16:9
· ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 graphics card with 512MB of virtual memory
· Intel mobile GS45 chipset + southbridge ICH9M-SSF
· HDMI port
· Three USB 2.0 ports
· 6-cell Lithium-Polymer battery
· Ethernet port, WiFi 802.11a/g/n
· Audio in/out jack
· Memory card reader (SD/MMC)
· Keyboard with keypad
· Webcam
· 4 built-in speakers
· Windows Vista Home Premium operating system
The weight of the X600 is 2.1Kgs and it has a sleek design, with the dimensions 39.2 x 25.5 x 2.5 cm. The exact pricing and availability of this model is not yet known, but, it is speculated that the prior variant would cost somewhere around $1,320 whereas, the later will cost approximately $1,120. It is expected that the X600 will be available in Europe by June and will later be launched for the US market as well.
