Sony Vaio X can even host Mac OS X

The craze continue
Sony’s claimed world’s lightest netbook, the Vaio X, is this expensive ($1300 starting) 11” carbon fiber netbook sporting a 2GHz Intel Atom Z550 processor, a solid state drive and standard Intel graphic card, Verizon Wireless mobile broadband module, GPS, Bluetooth and a 802.11b/g/n WiFi.
Now when you are paying so much, why not make it Mac compatible – and Yes, Asama from the InsanelyMac forums has done exactly that. According to him, he has installed the Mac OS on Vaio P before – successfully. Certain components were not supported though, like the Wi-Fi.
This is not the first time someone has hacked a non-Apple system to run Mac OS. Check out the HP Mini 311 hack for example – it was found out to be an excellent Hachintosh candidate. Then there are Mac clones which donot need to be hacked to run OS X – like the Psystar here and RussianMac here.
So why this craze? I think it is mainly due to the Apple restrictions over other hardwar supporting Mac OS or vice-versa that drives these tech geeks to show the world that it can be done!
