The Sony PCG-2121** netbook has appeared in an FCC document and uses the same battery and AC adaptor as the Vaio W series

On the 9th of December Sporton International INC (Taiwan), issued an FCC compliance report for an Atheros WLAN 802.11n 1x1 PCIe AR5B95 Minicard. The Atheros card was tested inside a Sony PCG-2121** computer, which appears to be a netbook.

There is no official word on the release date of this netbook yet, and Sony has not revealed any of the core specifications of the PCG-2121** yet. However, page 7 of the FCC document lists some of the devices used within the netbook, which reveal some of the machine's capabilities. The first device listed is the AC adaptor (model number VGP-AC19V39), which produces an output of 19.5V. This is the exact voltage produced by existing Sony Vaio AC adaptors.

The next two components are Li-ion batteries, one of which is the VGP-BPL18; and this happens to be the replacement battery used in the existing Sony Vaio W series of netbooks, as listed on Sony's website.

According to page 7 of the FCC document, the new netbook also features Qualcomm's Gobi 2000 WWAN module for 3G communication, the aforementioned Atheros AR5B95 WLAN module, and a Honhai T77H114 Bluetooth module. Such components would provide the new netbook with a good variety of communication devices, and could be an indication of Sony's intention to improve the Vaio W range somewhat.
