MSI GX723 - Gaming Paradise

MSI has launched the GX723 17-inch gaming notebook which is said to be a good replacement for the old and faithful desktop PC. The company claims that it will offer pure gaming bliss to all the hardcore gamers out there. The company had previously launched the 15.4-inch GX623 and GX633 gaming notebooks which were based on the Intel and AMD platform respectively.

The gaming muscle on the GX723 is provided by the 512MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 130M graphics chipset which is compatible with DirectX 10 and provides realistic game environments at high resolutions and fluid frame rates. This graphics processor can handle photo and video editing tasks up to 10 times faster than other mainstream CPUs. This GPU also helps in increasing the battery life by offloading the video decoding work from the CPU which has an Intel Core2 Duo processor. It also offers the user a true cinematic HD experience.

The GX723 enables the gamers to overclock the Core2 Duo processor by switching over to the Turbo Mode. This mode only works when the notebook is connected to the AC mains and is not running on the batteries. The ECO engine allows the user to switch between five different modes: Gaming mode, Movie mode, Presentation mode, Office mode, and Turbo Drive mode by the touch of a single button. Thus, it helps in improving the battery life by optimizing processor performance according to the type of usage.

The graphics are supported by the 4GB DDR2 800MHz RAM. The gamers won’t run out of space on the hard disk either as the GX723 comes in two options of a 320/500 GB HDD. The 17-inch WSXGA TFT LCD screen has a resolution of 1680x1050 to support the high resolution gaming environment and the high definition needs of the user. The notebook has five built-in speakers with Dolby sound support to provide a realistic and high quality audio experience.
