Gateway, a wholly owned subsidiary of Acer, has just come out with a new 11.6-inch CULV notebook in Canada (according to Electronista). The new notebook called the EC1803h is powered by a 1.4GHz Intel Core2 Solo processor, the same processor which is used on some of Acer’s Aspire and Timeline models. It is being said that this new model seems to be a rebranding and mild re-specification of the Acer Timeline 1810T (a.k.a. Aspire 1410 in the US) that isn't yet on sale in North America and the design of this new notebook is similar to the Gateway LT3100.

On the inside the EC1803h has 3GB of RAM, a 250GB HDD, and integrated GMA4500 graphic processor. It ships with a 6-cell battery, 5-in-1 card reader, and HDMI. In a hands-on, the system has been described as relatively speedy for its class; it can't support most Flash-based HD video smoothly but will handle standard-definition Flash video and some properly hardware-decoded HD properly. It uses Windows Vista Home Premium operating system.

Future Shop is selling the EC1803h for $600 Canadian ($555 US) in retail but, this model is not listed on its website. There are no reports about a US release yet.
