UK based company PsiXpda, a leading name in the UMPC market has launched its ultimate pocket computer which is equipped with a 5-inch touchscreen display. It is a high-tech ultraportable product having a very elegant and stylish design. Tagged as one of the world’s smallest and lightest UMPC devices available in the market, the new PsiXpda pocket computer is looking to stay in the market for long time and according to sources from the company this product is designed keeping in mind every type of customer i.e. those who love new technology and those who love stylish gadgets. The PsiXpda pocket computer will supposedly face competition from Sony Vaio P and Fujitsu UH900.

Here is a comparison of these three computers which will really be very helpful for you in choosing the best machine for yourself.

PsiXpda’s pocket computer is powered by a 1.1GHz Intel Atom Z510 processor, on the other hand Sony Vaio P is powered by a faster 1.3GHz Intel Atom Z5xx series processors up to 2GHz which is quiet good and similarly Fujitsu UH900 is equipped with Intel Atom Z530 processor.

PsiXpda UMPC works on the Windows XP Platform whereas the Sony Vaio P runs on Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Professional while Fujitsu UH900 LifeBook runs on Windows 7 platform which makes PsiXpda pocket computer really inferior.

PsiXpda’s pocket computer has only 16 GB of SSD memory with 1 GB DDR2 RAM, on the other hand, Sony Vaio P is equipped with a 64GB SSD and 2 GB of RAM which is expandable. Fujitsu UH900 has also got a 62 GB SSD memory with 2GB of RAM.

PsiXpda’s UMPC has a very good and comfortable QWERTY keyboard with a very high quality webcam, on the other hand the other two competitors fall behind as they don’t have that high quality keyboard but both support a good quality webcam.

PsiXpda’s pocket computer attracts has a tilting 4.8-inch 800 x 480 resistive touchscreen display while the Sony Vaio P is far ahead in this feature with an 8-inch, 1600 x 768 pixel display. Similarly, Fujitsu UH900 has a dashing 5.6-inch sunlight readable display with 1280×800 WXGA display. So, it is quite evident that the Sony Vaio P and Fujitsu UH900 are far ahead as far as the display is concerned.

For connectivity PsiXpda’s pocket computer has Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, with support for 3G module like WCDMA, EVDO, or TD-SCDMA and mini and full-size USB ports which makes it a very useful mobile device. In this field Sony Vaio P supports features like GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11b, and Ethernet. Talking about the Fujitsu UH900, it has got Bluetooth, WI-Fi, option of inbuilt 3.5G connectivity, an SD card slot, and two USB ports.

PsiXpda’s pocket computer has a 1,850mAh battery pack that would require charging around every 4 hours. Sony Vaio P laptop is equipped with a small battery but has the best run time in comparison to its other two counter parts. Fujitsu UH900 has a very small 1800mAH battery and requires charging after every three hour when used in eco mode.

Price is the one thing that gives some breathing space to PsiXpda in this highly competitive range of mini computers as its product’s price will be $830 on the other hand the price of Sony Vaio P range starts from $849.99 and price for Fujitsu UH900 is around $1400.

My verdict is that although I really like the look and feel of the PsiXpda UMPC but it lacks in many respects like the processor speed, display, hard disk capacity, and RAM. Considering the fact that this device will cost the user somewhat $830, I would definitely suggest users to stick with the Sony Vaio P.
