These speakers are available for less than $40
Two new USB powered speakers hit the market today from the likes of Logic3 and USBfever.
Logic3, a company based in UK, has just come out with its SB332K ScreenBeat USB metal speaker for notebooks or any other device supporting a USB port. These speakers do not need any external power but instead are powered by the USB. Supporting a price tag of $30 at Logic3's website, the speakers measure 32mm x 206mm x 24mm and produce 3W of RMS output with a frequency response of 200Hz – 15Hz. Having a shape of a cylinder, the aluminium speakers are ideal for placing in front of or beside a PC / laptop screen. Other plus point is that the speakers are compatible with PC/Mac.
USBfever, a Hong Kong based company, has also come out with its USB powered speakers in the form of Sonar Speakers. These are round in shape and use vibration to produce sound. This means that seamless audio is produced without the need of having any hole from where the sound comes out. This shape and new technology helps these speakers to produce sound on any surface, be it wood, glass, stone, book or wall.
Specifications for the device are as follows:
- Frequency Response: 100Hz - 18KHz
- Input Power: DC 5-6V
- Ambient Temperature & Humidity: -10°-40°C, <90%
It is available in red and black colors. Like the screenbeat speakers, these are also USB powered but feature a lower-tuned frequency response of 100Hz–18Khz. The speakers are shipped with a USB cable and a replacement plastic cushioning blade. The sonar speakers are available at $36 on USBfever.com.
