New gaming notebook from Rock
The European manufacturer brings out couple of high-performance gaming devices
These are definitely two of the grandest notebooks of the year. The new Xtreme 790 and Xtreme 840 notebook series are laden with features that should make your neighbors over-jealous. Number one: they run on probably the fastest notebook graphics around. The X790 and X840 ranges feature NVIDIA’s new 1GB GeForce GTX 280M GPU - promises blistering frame rates that are up to 50% faster than previous generation enthusiast notebook GPUs. Such high-performance configuration also gives you full HD playback. Both the systems have 4 x USB, 7-in1 Card Reader, 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi and a 3 year ‘on-site’ warranty as standard.

The X790 has this black-metal look with Intel’s new Core i-7 Processor on board - the fastest processor in the world. That means digital content creation that’s faster and more efficient than ever before! The Intel Core i-7 features Hyper-Threading technology which gets maximum performance out of its four cores with two threads on each instead of just one. Not only does this enable you to run more applications simultaneously and create digital content faster and more efficiently than ever before.
The Xtreme 790 comes with a HDD storage of up to 1.5TB (3 x 500GB 7200rpm SATA) which feature RAID 0 support for improved speed performance and RAID1 support for real-time back up, depending on your requirements. Connectivity is taken care of by the 1x E-SATA and 1x IEEE1394A in addition to the traditional array of I/O ports.
The built-in Blu-Ray drives up to a monstrous 6GB DDR3 RAM with a clocking speed of 1066MHz. Other features include HDMI connectivity, full HD displays and Windows Vista Home Premium (64 bit) Edition. And voila, you also get a free update to Windows 7.

The new Xtreme 840 has a monstrous 18.4” full HD screen with a very thick 1920×1080 full HD resolution and true 16:10 aspect ratio. The Xtreme 840 gives an option of either an Intel Core 2 Duo or an Intel Core 2 Quad CPU and massive multimedia storage capacity with up to 1.5TB HDD space. It has the 2 x 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280 card for extreme graphics, which is probably the fastest graphics combo from NVIDIA to date. For optimum gaming performance the Xtreme 840 also supports RAID0 HDD technology providing enhanced disk performance through striping.
One good thing in the Xtreme 840 for an 18” behemoth is the enhanced and so-sensitive Touch-Sensor feature that provides simple and convenient access to features like Volume, Camera, Wireless LAN and Mute. The eight dedicated Gaming Buttons join the party.
The Rock Xtreme 790 starts from £1,999 ($3,259), while the single and dual GPU Rock Xtreme 840 models start from £1,699 ($2,770) and £2,299 ($3,748) respectively. Both this machines are available to pre order now the official site. Shipping date is tentatively end of July.
