TabletKiosk launches two new UMPC's
These devices feature dual digitizers
We have seen quite a few UMPC (ultra mobile PC) models being rolled out this year and this number has just increased by two because TabletKiosk has just launched two new UMPC models under the EO series - the eo a7330D and eo TufTab a7230XD. The best part about these devices is that they are the only 7-inch UMPC's that feature auto-switching dual digitizers touchscreen which have been provided by Wacom. The devices are powered by Intel Atom Z530P processor that increases battery life without the loss of functionality.
Both the devices have 1GB DDR2 RAM and a 80GB HDD as standard (16GB or 32GB Industrial SSD drive optional), Windows XP or Windows Vista (with FREE upgrade to Windows 7). For connectivity we have built-in dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (Draft 2.0 certified), Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, GPS, USB ports, and optional 3G/3.5G WWAN. In addition to all this the eo TufTab a7230XD meets MIL-STD-810F standards and is rated IP54 with added optional features like built-in 2MP Webcam, 1D/2D barcode reader, 4-in-1 media card reader, and RFID reader.
These UMPC's use Intel GMA500 for 2D and 3D graphics and support various video standards like MPEG-2/MPEG-4/H.264/VC-1/WMV-9 HD video decoder. Both the devices feature a modular expansion system that allows users to add custom functionality like magnetic strip reader or bar code reader. The a7330D is priced at $1,495 and the ruggedized TufTab will cost you $2,195. Both these devices are available for pre-order.
