LG has quietly started selling its first Tandem OLED gaming monitor in the US. Available for significantly more than the comparable Gigabyte MO27Q28G, the LG UltraGear OLED 27GX700A combines a 1440p resolution and 280 Hz refresh rate with 335 nits peak SDR brightness and 1,500 nits across some areas in HDR mode.

The UltraGear OLED 27GX700A has returned to sale in the US after briefly appearing on Amazon. Revealed in July, the UltraGear OLED 27GX700A then arrived in China and Hong Kong a month later. Unfortunately, LG has not clarified when its latest 27-inch gaming monitor will be available globally.

Nonetheless, the monitor appears to have now received a US release exclusive to Amazon. An early example of LG Display's new Primary RGB Tandem panel technology, the UltraGear OLED 27GX700A shares its WOLED panel with the Gigabyte MO27Q28G. Hence, the UltraGear OLED 27GX700A outputs at 1440p with a 280 Hz refresh rate.

Ultimately, that may not sound that impressive compared with other recent 27-inch OLED gaming monitors like the Samsung Odyssey G6 G60SF. However, the UltraGear OLED 27GX700A gets significantly brighter than QD-OLED monitors with 335 nits SDR and 1,500 nits HDR peak brightness. Currently, LG's new 27-inch monitor is available for $849.

For context, while Gigabyte originally intended to release the MO27Q28G for $499, the company now claims to have been forced to raise the price of its monitor to a $549 MSRP. Incidentally, LG is now offering the UltraGear OLED 34GX900A and UltraGear OLED 45GX900A globally too, but with different panels than the UltraGear OLED 27GX700A.
