Honor is scheduled to launch its flagship foldable model for the year, the Magic V5, shortly. The Magic V5 will succeed last year's Magic V3, and has now hit Geekbench, with other relevant bits of information on the device also emerging on the grapevine.
The Magic V5 is listed with the model number "MHG-AN00" and 16 GB of RAM. The listed core frequencies confirm the presence of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version, a chipset that debuted on the RedMagic 10S series recently and is effectively a Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy—but for other OEMs.
Unfortunately, the overclocked chipset doesn't translate into radically improved CPU performance, as the Magic V5 scores 3,052 in the single-core test, and 9,165 in the multi-core one. For some perspective, both of those scores just about match the average performance of the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite on our benchmark database.
According to Digital Chat Station, the Magic V5 is codenamed "Maybach", and features 67 W wired charging, a 6,100 mAh silicon-carbon battery, a 7.95-inch inner display, a 50 MP main camera, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. The Magic V5 will debut sometime this month, but an exact date has yet to be revealed. We'll keep you updated on that.
