Lately, many Android manufacturers have begun offering longer software support for their devices, and among them is Honor. The Chinese manufacturer has announced today its software support plans for the upcoming Honor 400 series.
Based on a press release shared with Notebookcheck, Honor says it is committing to providing 6 years of Android updates for the Honor 400 series. This means the phones, which will launch with Android 15, will receive Android updates through to 2030. This matches Samsung's six years of updates for the Galaxy A56.
Honor has also revealed that the Honor 400 series will be updated to Android 16 by the end of this year. While a stable update of Android 16 is scheduled to be released in June for eligible Pixel devices, only a few manufacturers will be able to match a similar release timeframe for their devices.
Alongside the Honor 400 series, Honor will also update the Magic 7 Pro (available on Amazon.de for €999.90) and the Magic V3 to Android 16 this year. Android 16 beta is already available for the Magic 7 Pro, so a stable update should arrive much earlier compared to the Honor 400 series. The Android 16 update will come along with a new version of Honor's MagicOS software which should be called MagicOS 10 since the cureent version which is MagicOS 9 is based on Android 15.
The Honor 400 series is scheduled for release on May 22 in the UK and Europe. The phones will also be announced in China but on May 28.
