Samsung's first tri-fold smartphone is not expected to debut next month during the company's next Galaxy Unpacked event. Nonetheless, PandaFlashPro claims to have received new information about the long-awaited device ahead of time.
Writing on X, the leaker reports that the so-called Galaxy G Fold will only be available with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. Arguably this should come as no surprise though given the precedent set by the Galaxy Z Fold series, including last year's Galaxy Z Fold6 (curr. $999 - refurbished on Amazon). On top of that, the tri-folding smartphone should match the Galaxy Z Fold7 with 16 GB of RAM. Likewise, PandaFlashPro reports that the Galaxy G Fold will match the Galaxy Z Fold7 by opting for a conventional foldable selfie camera.
Not only does the leaker believe that Samsung's tri-fold will miss out on an Under Display Camera (UDC), but they also believe there will be battery 'disappointment'. Unfortunately, they have not received confirmation of rated or typical capacities yet. Instead, they state that the Galaxy G Fold should be comparatively durable thanks to its aluminium and titanium construction. Currently, Samsung is expected to introduce its first tri-fold in the autumn.
