Zepp Health has announced a new global software update for the Balance 2 smartwatch. Version 3.16.0.3 arrives a couple of weeks after an older release spotted in China, which brought new HYROX Training Modes and the recreational scuba diving mode to some users.
Now, software version 3.16.0.3 brings a new Ultramarathon workout mode for users of the Balance 2. This is stored under Workout > More workouts > Running & Walking. Another change is that Tap to Wake is now the default setting; if you wish to amend this, you can do so by going to Watch Settings > Display > Tap to Wake.
According to the release notes on Discord, Zepp Health has also optimized the Digital Crown scrolling experience during workouts. Plus, there is a fix for issues linked to the Eject feature, which was not performing as expected, and a problem where audio was silent has been resolved. On top of this, lag in the Balance 2’s Control Center is said to have been reduced. One feature which is still missing after this update is BioCharge; the Amazfit team says that it is working on improving this feature for the smartwatch format, though it has yet to indicate when it will be pushed to these customers.
While the official change log states that the release began on June 17th, it seems likely that it in fact began on July 17th. As such, it should currently be rolling out to users in the US, Italy and China, reaching users in other countries by the end of July. When it is available in your region, you will be able to install the software version 3.16.0.3 update for the Balance 2 smartwatch (curr. $299.99 at Amazon) via the Zepp Health app. It is worth noting that users must have at least Zepp App version 9.9.5.
