Hardly any time has passed since Garmin officially teased an upcoming new smartwatch. Shared on Chinese social media, the image and accompanying post indicate that it will be unveiling a new Forerunner model on July 22, despite only releasing the Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 (curr. $749.99 on Amazon) just over two months ago.
Now, Garmin has been spotted dropping hints about a separate unreleased smartwatch within a recent Venu 3 series user manual revision. Published earlier this month in Japanese, the user manual appears to contain the first reference to the Venu 4 that it frames within the context of its paid Golf Membership service. Embedded below, the section is not considered a misprint at this stage, particularly given the user manual's recent new revision.
Instead, the timing of its appearance seems more than a coincidence. For context, Garmin introduced the Venu 3 and Venu 3S in late August 2023. Given the company's recent release cadences, one should reasonably expect fourth-generation models to officially debut sometime next month or by September 2025 at the latest. Unfortunately, no concrete details about the Venu 4 have emerged yet. With that being said, we suspect Garmin will bring across features from recent releases like voice controls, a refreshed UI and a brighter AMOLED display, among other changes.
