AMD Turion II P540
The AMD Turion II Dual-Core Mobile P540 is a dual-core processor for laptops based on the same architecture like the desktop Athlon II CPUs (K10.5 with missing level 3 cache). The CPU integrates a 533 MHz dual-channel DDR3 memory controller and communicates with a single 1800 MHz 16-Bit HyperTransport 3.0 link. The Turion II P540 is manufactured in 45nm SOI.
The performance is hard to compare to a current Intel CPU. On average it should be on par with a Core 2 Duo / Pentium Dual-Core at the same clock speed and cache size. As most Core 2 Duo at this speed have a much larger Level 2 cache, the performance lies beyond the typical Core 2 Duo at 2.4 GHz.
Compared to the slightly faster clocked Turion II N530, the P540 is rated at a lower TDP of 25 Watt.
