A new report indicates that Xiaomi could be prepping a special edition of the Redmi K50 for release. Hardware details are unclear but the phone looks set to bear the "Super Cup" suffix, which could translate into a phone branded as the Redmi K50 Ultra.

The Redmi K50 series is coming. Xiaomi is slowly ramping up its marketing campaign for the series scheduled to debut later this month, and word on the grapevine indicates that the Chinese company has a special variant of the phone in the works.

As reported by Xiaomiui, it appears a special version of the Redmi K50 is on its way. Supposedly, this device will be branded as the “Redmi K50 Super Cup Exclusive Edition”, with Xiaomi generally reserving the "Super Cup" moniker for its range range-topping model. Both the Redmi K30 Ultra and Mi 10 Ultra were marketed as Super Cup models as well, so there's a chance this device is branded as the Redmi K50 Ultra. That could be a stretch, though.

Details of the Redmi K50 Super Cup Exclusive Edition remain unknown, however. It's expected to come with 512 GB of storage, but no other hardware differences have been revealed so far. Seeing as most reports lean towards the Redmi K50 series having just four models—the Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Pro, Redmi K50 Pro+, and Redmi K50 Pro Gaming—it looks unlikely that this is a phone of its own. It could well be an exclusive 512 GB model of one of the aforementioned devices.
