8BitDo Ultimate 2: 8BitDo releases new wireless controller in celebration of new game update
8BitDo has now released a new variant of its Ultimate 2 wireless controller after teasing it earlier this week. As we discussed at the time, 8BitDo has introduced multiple additional versions of the Ultimate 2 since its original launch at the end of February. Of those, the Wuchang: Fallen Feathers edition is the closest in essence to the controller that the company has released today.
As expected, 8BitDo has partnered with miHoYo to create a Honkai: Star Rail - Evernight version of the Ultimate 2 wireless controller. Celebrating the addition of the Evernight character within Honkai: Star Rail and sporting a flower-heavy livery, the controller also comes with a customised charging dock within which hides a 2.4 GHz USB Type-C adapter. Moreover, 8BitDo has included the following other accessories:
- 1x Glitter coaster
- 4x Joystick caps
- 1x Temporary Tattoo Sticker
- 1x Travel case
Fundamentally, the Honkai: Star Rail - Evernight edition contains the same hardware as other Ultimate 2 wireless controllers, though. Thus, the new release features TMR joysticks, three sets of shoulder buttons, configurable back buttons and trigger mode switches for cycling between linear and tactile trigger modes. The 8BitDo Ultimate 2 wireless controller (Honkai: Star Rail - Evernight) is available to order from today for $69.99 on 8BitDo or Amazon and ships on October 16, 2025.
