macOS 14 Sonoma coming tomorrow
On September 12, Apple held an event called "Wanderlust" during which the Cupertino-based tech giant announced that macOS 14 "Sonoma" would arrive in two weeks. Since there is no obvious reason for a delay and Apple hasn't announced such a thing, it is rather safe to assume that macOS 14 will arrive tomorrow.
The list of changes is quite long, and its highlights are the following:
- Interactive desktop widgets, including Continuity for iPhone widgets support on Macs.
- A Game mode that activates automatically when the user starts a game and gives the game top CPU and GPU priority. This mode also reduces latency for AirPods, wireless game controllers, and other similar devices.
- Apple TV-style aerial screensavers.
- Support for user profiles in Safari, alongside improved Private Browsing.
- The ability to pin Web apps on the dock via Safari's share menu.
- Siri activates after saying just "Siri" instead of "Hey Siri" as it is now the case.
- A new Presenter Overlay for video conferencing apps such as FaceTime or Zoom.
The list of supported Apple hardware that can run macOS Sonoma includes the iMac Pro from 2017, MacBook Air, Mac mini, and MacBook Pro from 2018 (and later), Mac Pro and iMac from 2019 and later, as well as the Mac Studio (2022 and later).

In my early school days, I hated writing and having to make up stories. A decade later, I started to enjoy it. Since then, I published a few offline articles and then I moved to the online space, where I contributed to major websites that are still present online as of 2021 such as Softpedia, Brothersoft, Download3000, but I also wrote for multiple blogs that have disappeared over the years. I've been riding with the Notebookcheck crew since 2013 and I am not planning to leave it anytime soon. In love with good mechanical keyboards, vinyl and tape sound, but also smartphones, streaming services, and digital art.
