According to recent reports, a few circa 8-inch tablets from major manufacturers will launch later this year to rival the Legion Tab and iPad mini (curr. $399 on Amazon). In the meantime, Alldocube has released the iPlay 70 Mini Ultra with an 8.8-inch and 2.5K (2,560 x 1,600) IPS display. A 144 Hz panel, it is also said that the display delivers up to 500 nits peak brightness with a 343 PPI pixel density and 97% NTSC colour space coverage.
The iPlay 70 Mini Ultra also leverages the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset that Qualcomm released last year. Broadly packing the same performance as the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 features ARM Cortex-X4, Cortex-A720 and Cortex-A520 CPU cores paired with an Adreno 732 GPU. Built around a 4 nm process, the chipset is aided by 12 GB of RAM, 256 GB of expandable storage and a 7,300 mAh battery that supports 20 W wired charging.
Meanwhile, the iPlay 70 Mini Ultra also finds itself with 5 MP front-facing and 13 MP rear-facing cameras within a 208.2 x 129.6 x 7.9 mm housing that weighs 335 g. Alldocube pre-installs Android 14 too, although it remains to be seen whether the company will update the tablet to Android 15 or beyond. More details about the iPlay 70 Mini Ultra can be found on Alldocube's website. The company has not confirmed whether the tablet will be available globally yet nor for how much.
