engo3: Next-gen smart glasses that can interface with the Garmin and Apple Watch

The engo3 is a new pair of smart glasses now available for pre-order directly from the manufacturer in two models. The standard model is priced at €350. For an additional €50, customers can get the photochromic version, which can darken depending on the ambient light. This could be particularly useful during varying training conditions. Both models are scheduled to ship starting March 31.
The fundamental purpose of the glasses is quite simple: a built-in display shows various parameters directly in the field of vision. According to the manufacturer, over 40 data fields can be used, with six data fields displayed on a single screen. These could be heart rate, current pace or speed. For more ambitious athletes who follow a structured training plan, such glasses may eliminate the need to constantly check a smartphone or smartwatch, which could prove particularly convenient during intense interval training.
The system offers a color-coded display and weighs only 38.5 grams, with a stated battery life of over 20 hours. Gesture control is supported, as is compatibility with over 81 Garmin devices, including wearables and cycling computers. Apple Watch users should also be able to benefit from the engo3.
