Asus Zenfone 9 officially confirmed for July 28 launch
Last week, the first official details of the Asus Zenfone 9 surfaced in the wild, courtesy of a leaked promo video. That indicated launch was at hand, and Asus has now confirmed that by announcing an official launch date for the Zenfone 8's successor.
Hours ago, the company revealed on its official website and pages the launch date for the Zenfone 9: July 28 by 13:00 GMT. Like with the Zenfone 8, the upcoming Zenfone 9 will be a proper compact phone reminiscent of Sony's Xperia Compact models. The company is, of course, marketing it as such, with the tag line "Compact Size. Big Possibilities." The Zenfone 8 had some availability issues at launch last year, though, and Asus will be hoping to improve on that with the Zenfone 9 as there's sizeable market for compact, premium phones.
The earlier leaked promo video for the Zenfone 9 revealed most details of the compact flagship. Notable takeaways include a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, 50 MP IMX766 main camera, a 5.9-inch 120 Hz AMOLED, 6-axis gimbal stabilizer, 4300 mAh battery, stereo speakers, a 3.5mm jack, and IP68 certification. We'll keep you updated.
