This year's Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping events might be over, but bargain hunters who are still in the market for a new gaming laptop should stay vigilant, as the upcoming holiday season will still bring some notable sales and deals on many sought-after machines. This certainly applies to the good-looking Asus ROG Zephyrus M16, which has now been massively discounted at a well-known US retailer.
More specifically, Best Buy is currently selling the Asus ROG Zephyrus M16 with the fast Intel Core i7-12700H Alder Lake processor and 16GB of DDR5 memory for just US$1,199, which constitutes a considerable US$450 or 27% discount in relation to the gaming laptop's original list price of US$1,649. This configuration is further equipped with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 dGPU with 6GB of GDDR6 VRAM and an adequate TGP of 120 watts. The Asus ROG Zephyrus M16 also features a bright 16:10 QHD display with a decent peak brightness of 500 nits and a refresh rate of 165Hz. However, there is some confusion regarding these display specs (see update below).
We haven't tested the 2022 model of the Asus ROG Zephyrus M16 just yet, but prospective buyers might want to check out our comprehensive review of the fairly similar predecessor from last year. As already indicated, we very much enjoyed the bright and color accurate 16-inch IPS display, but we also praised the gaming laptop's port selection, good maintenance options and input devices. At its currently discounted sale price of US$1,199, the Asus ROG Zephyrus M16 may not be the most affordable RTX 3060-based gaming notebook, but the beautiful display and sleek design might still convince some buyers who are looking for a new laptop in this particular price range.
Update November 30
According to some of our readers, the display specifications of the Asus ROG Zephyrus M16 on Best Buy's product page may be incorrect. Supposedly, this model is equipped with the base Full-HD panel instead of the sharper QHD+ screen, which is why buyers should double check their unit and take advantage of Best Buy's return policy if necessary.
