Zeiss flagship camera Vivo X100 (Pro) in huge demand and selling 740% more than its predecessor
This week, Vivo presented its two new flagship smartphones, the Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro. So far, the two models are only available on the manufacturer's home market in China. And they seem to be selling like hotcakes there.
Hung Tao, Vice President of Vivo, gave an insight into the sales launch of the new Vivo X100 series on Weibo shortly after the launch. Although he doesn't give specific numbers, he tells fans that the Vivo X100 and the Vivo X100 Pro are selling well. The new generation has reportedly outperformed its two predecessors, the Vivo X90 and Vivo X90 Pro, by 740%, i.e. it has sold 7.4 times better thus far.
These are just the initial impressions directly after the launch and must naturally always be viewed with a certain amount of skepticism. After all, manufacturers like to advertise new sales records immediately after launch, as Xiaomi recently did after the presentation of the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro. Over 700% higher sales figures are a clear sign that the Vivo X100 series appears to be well received. The high demand is reportedly causing problems with availability and longer waiting times.
Fans outside China are used to waiting. The global launch of the Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro has not yet been announced. Importing from China is possible, but not necessarily a ideal solution due to the lack of LTE bands. The Pro model is particularly exciting with its main camera with a 1-inch sensor and the 50 MP Zeiss APO super telephoto camera paired with the powerful Dimensity 9300. And the manufacturer wants to go one better next year with the Vivo X100 Pro+ and Vivo X100 Ultra.
