Fairphone 4 New Life Edition starts at cheaper pricing with free screen protector and protective case

Earlier this year, Fairphone released its fifth-generation smartphone, which it sells as the Fairphone 5 (purchase on Amazon). Primarily, the company is known for its sustainability thanks to its commitment to using recycled materials and ensuring it uses modular parts. Now, it has started offering the Fairphone 4 New Life Edition, a refurbished Fairphone 4 that it is selling at a reduced price.

At launch, Fairphone is charging €469 for the New Life Edition in the Eurozone and £429 in the UK with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage space. For context, this makes the New Life Edition about €60/£70 cheaper than a new Fairphone 4. Alternatively, there is an 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage available for €529 and £479 in the Eurozone and UK, respectively.

Not only is the New Life Edition cheaper than a new Fairphone 4, but the company also includes a few complimentary accessories under the banner 'Longevity Bundle'. Available until November 30, the Longevity Bundle includes a pre-consumer recycled TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) protective case in three colours and a 9H tempered glass screen protector. According to Fairphone, the latter comes in two filter versions and is made from Accessory Glass, a Corning-branded material.

Moreover, all New Life Edition models come with a 5-year guarantee. Fairphone states that all models should have at least 80% guaranteed battery capacity and will ship in otherwise original condition. Fairphone guarantees software updates until at least 2026, too.
