Shortly after launch, Vivo made it known that its Vivo X100 series was selling very well. Now, another record has been announced. According to a post on Weibo, the smartphone series has exceeded the one billion mark in sales across all channels for the first time in the manufacturer's history.
Readers should note that this is not in euros or US dollars, but rather in yuan, the Chinese currency. Converted, 1 billion yuan corresponds to around USD 140 million, which is still an impressive sales figure for just a few days of sales. After all, the Vivo X100 and the Vivo X100 Pro were only officially presented ten days ago. This means that the Vivo X100 series has had a more successful start than any of the manufacturer's other smartphone models to date.
Vivo has not mentioned the number of units sold. As the Vivo X100 starts at 3999 yuan (approx. USD 560) in China and the Vivo X100 Pro costs a maximum of 5999 yuan (approx. USD 845), this results in a calculated sales volume of between 166,000 to 250,000 units.
And these sales figures are expected to rise even further, especially since at least two more models are reportedly in the starting blocks. In addition to the already discussed Vivo X100 Pro+, which may be launched as the Vivo X100 Ultra, leaker Digital Chat Station has also brought the Vivo X100s into play. According to a report on Weibo (now deleted), this will be released in April 2024 and, unlike the previous two models, will not come with a rounded, but rather a flat display. It is likely be priced below the Vivo X100, although there are no further details at the moment.
