In recent years, Apple has tended to offer mid-cycle refreshes of its current-generation iPhones. For example, the company introduced Alpine Green variants of the iPhone 13 Pro range in March 2022 before giving the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus (curr. $499 - renewed on Amazon) a yellow colourway in spring 2023. In the same spirit, Xiaomi has now updated one of its recent mid-range smartphones too.
For context, the company introduced an Ivy Green variant of the Redmi Note 14 5G almost three months ago in India. This time, it has brought a 'Sand Gold' variant of the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus 5G to the UK and Europe, expanding the device's colour options to four in the process. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen whether Xiaomi plans to offer the new variant outside these markets.
Regardless, the Sand Gold option retains the same hardware as Xiaomi's existing Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus 5G options. Thus, it will ship with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, a 5,110 mAh battery backed by 120 W charging and a 200 MP Light Hunter 800 primary camera. The new Sand Gold variant features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display too, which Xiaomi surrounds with a light gold frame.
The new Sand Gold variant starts at £379 in the UK and €419.90 (~$474) in the Eurozone with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage down from retail prices of £449 and €529.90 (~$597), respectively. With that being said, up to £80 in discounts can also be taken off that drops the handset's price to just £329. Please see Xiaomi's website for more information.
