Xiaomi launches the Mijia Electric Scooter 3 Youth Edition
Xiaomi has announced the Mijia Electric Scooter 3 Youth Edition, also known as the Mijia Electric Scooter 3 Lite. The vehicle has been designed with portability front and centre, weighing around 29 lbs (13 kg).
Firstly, the scooter's body is ~5.6-in (141 mm) thick, making it ~0.4-in (10 mm) thinner than the Mijia Electric Scooter 1S. The body of the gadget is made of an aluminium alloy, making it lightweight. Plus, the device has a front folding mechanism to make it easier to carry and store
This design also gives the scooter a low centre of gravity, which improves the device's stability and makes for a more comfortable ride. Another comfort feature is the ~16.9-in (430 mm) wide footboard, ~0.4-in (10 mm) wider than the 1S's footboard.
The Mijia Electric Scooter 3 Youth Edition has three speed settings: pedestrian mode tops out at ~4 mph (6 kph), standard mode lets you reach ~9 mph (15 kph), and sports mode enables you to hit the maximum speed of ~16 mph (25 kph).
The scooter has a 250W motor, it can tackle inclines up to 13%, and its lithium battery allows up to ~12 miles (20 km) of range. The vehicle has an integrated display with a simple UI display information such as your speed and the device's charge level. Plus, you can control the scooter's settings in the accompanying app.
The Mijia Electric Scooter 3 Lite is available to pre-order in China for 1,899 yuan (~US$299), in either black or white. After this pre-sale, the product will cost 1,999 yuan (~US$315).
