Xiaomi confirms Poco M8 Power 5G launch date and 8,000 mAh battery

Xiaomi first teased its Poco M8 Power 5G earlier this month. The company has now confirmed the launch date along with a few key specifications before the official announcement.
The M8 Power 5G comes with an 8,000 mAh battery, up from the 5,520 mAh battery in the standard M8. The larger battery is the main upgrade over the M8 and M8 Pro. Xiaomi says the larger battery can provide up to three days of use on a single charge, giving the M8 Power 5G an advantage for users who need longer battery life.
In the latest tweet, the company has also confirmed that the phone will use an AMOLED display. However, it has not revealed details such as the screen size, resolution, refresh rate, brightness, or peak brightness.
The latest promotional images once again show the phone in the textured orange finish first seen in the initial teaser.
While Xiaomi has not published the complete specification sheet, earlier reports suggest the Poco M8 Power 5G could be based on the Redmi Note 17. If that is the case, the handset may also include Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor, 45 W wired charging, and a 50 MP primary camera. Xiaomi has not confirmed those specifications so far.

The Poco M8 Power 5G will be sold through Flipkart in India after its launch. Xiaomi is expected to reveal the remaining specifications, pricing, and availability at its August 4 launch event, which begins at 12 PM IST. For now, the phone has only been announced for India, and the company has not shared any plans for a wider release.
