Xiaomi announces Redmi Note 2 smartphone for 115 Euros
Xiaomi has revealed a very affordable smartphone with the Redmi Note 2. For just 800 Yuan or 115 Euros, the smartphone carries respectable specifications including:
- Display: 5.5-inch FHD
- CPU: Octa-core MediaTek MT6795 SoC
- GPU: PowerVR G6200
- Storage: 16 GB eMMC
- Connectivity: WLAN 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi Direct, WiDi, IR, GPS, LTE, Dual SIM
- Cameras: Rear 13 MP wide-angle lens (78 degrees) f/2.2, Front 5 MP
- Battery: 3060 mAh
- OS: Android Lollipop with MIUI 7
- Dimensions: 152 x 76 x 8.25 mm
The cameras will reportedly be able to launch and snap photos almost instantaneously at 0.1 seconds.
A higher-end Redmi Note 2 Prime will also be available for 1000 Yuan or roughly 140 Euros. This model will have all the features of the Redmi Note 2 but with a higher-end 2.2 GHz Helio X10 SoC and 32 GB of internal memory instead of just 16 GB. These features make even current mainstream smartphones look expensive in comparison.
