Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 hinted for an August 13th reveal
Xiaomi is already on fire on Chinese social media networks through teases of its upcoming MIUI 7 UI. The manufacturer has been sharing photos and screenshots of the software ahead of its official debut at a press conference in Beijing on August 13.
According to recent reports from China, Xiaomi will have another announcement up its sleeve: The Redmi Note 2 smartphone. In addition, several online retailers in Asia are hinting at Redmi Note 2 reservations starting on August 16. A purported screenshot at one retailer shows that the 32 GB version of the possible Redmi Note 2 could cost around 800 Yuan or the equivalent of 120 Euros. It is assumed that Xiaomi will also sell a cheaper 16 GB model for 700 Yuan (~100 Euros) to better compete against the Meizu M2 Note.
The Redmi Note 2 is expected to have a 5.5-inch FHD display, octa-core MediaTek MT6795 SoC, 2 GB RAM, 13 MP and 5 MP cameras, and a 3020 mAh battery. A rumor back in June claimed an official announcement set for July, which proved to be untrue.
