Xiaomi has launched the Mi NoteBook Pro 120 and Mi NoteBook Pro 120G in India. These are incremental upgrades to last year's Mi NoteBook Pro lineup with 12th gen Alder Lake Core i5 processors and Nvidia GeForce MX550 graphics in the 120G variant. Xiaomi has also increased the refresh rate of the display to 120 Hz with improved color accuracy claims.

Xiaomi, today, announced the latest additions to its laptop lineup in India — the Mi NoteBook Pro 120G and the Mi NoteBook Pro 120. The new Mi NoteBook Pros build upon the previous generation in terms of design and now offer 12th gen Intel Alder Lake parts and higher refresh rate displays.

The Mi NoteBook Pro 120G and the Mi NoteBook Pro 120 are identical in most aspects save for the GPU. The 120G variant features an Nvidia GeForce MX550 dGPU while the standard NoteBook Pro 120 makes do with integrated Xe graphics. Both devices are powered by an Intel Alder Lake Core i5 processor, the variant of which the company has not specified just yet. The Alder Lake Core i5 processor is paired with 16 GB of LPDDR5-5200 RAM and 512 GB of PCIe Gen 4 storage.

The chassis is pretty much similar to the previous generation and is made of an aerospace-grade series 6 aluminum alloy with CNC-machined cuts and an anodized finish. The display gets some upgrades this year with Xiaomi opting for a 14-inch 16:10 2.5K 120 Hz panel with 100% sRGB coverage and a Delta E that is supposedly under 1.5. The company said that the display is TUV Rheinland-certified for low blue light protection and supports DC Dimming for a flicker-free viewing experience.

Connectivity features are largely similar to what we've seen before. However, we now get Thunderbolt 4 connectivity in addition to USB 3.1 Type-A, a combo audio jack, and HDMI 2.0-out. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 help take care of all networking needs.

The keyboard and touchpad area seem similar to last year's Mi NoteBook Pro including the presence of a fingerprint reader in the power button. A 720p webcam, 56 WHr battery with 100 W USB-C charger, and DTS audio processing round up the specifications. Xiaomi claims that the 100 W charger can get the laptop up and running from 0 to 50% in under 35 minutes.

Windows 11 Home and Office 2021 Home and Student come pre-installed.

At the moment, it is not clear whether Xiaomi would also be launching upgraded Mi NoteBook Ultra variants with Core i7 processor options. The Xiaomi NoteBook Pro 120G will retail for a starting price of ₹74,999 (US$943) while the Mi NoteBook Pro 120 starts from ₹69,999 (US$880). Sales begin September 20 across Mi.com, Mi Homes, and Amazon India.
