Xiaomi Mi 11 series tipped for December 29 launch: What we know so far
The Xiaomi Mi 11 series is no secret at this point. The Mi 11 is set to succeed the well-received Mi 10 series as Xiaomi's next-gen flagship lineup, and will be positioned against Samsung's Galaxy S21 series and the OnePlus 9 series. Previously a January launch was expected but it appears the phone may arrive even sooner.
According to new information on Chinese social media platform Weibo, Xiaomi could be set to launch the Mi 11 series on December 29. That information is also being corroborated by the folks over at Gizmochina, for what it's worth. In any case, it wouldn't be surprising, as Xiaomi officially announced the device earlier this month.
So, what do we know about the Mi 11 so far?
For one, it's almost certain that the more expensive Mi 11 Pro will sport a 120 Hz QHD+ display. That would make it the first Xiaomi device to feature such a high-res panel. Supposedly, the display itself may also be quad-curved; ergo, curved on all sides. Leaked specs from a while ago tipped the Mi 11 to feature the 108 MP ISOCELL HM3, with the Mi 11 Pro possibly opting for a 50 MP or 200 MP main camera.
Base models will ship with 8 GB of RAM, while battery capacity will likely range from 4700 mAh to 5000 mAh. Lastly, there's a chance that Xiaomi will release a compact device to go with the Mi 11 and Mi 11 Pro—the Mi 11 Mini. We wouldn't bet on that, though.
