Xiaomi and Meizu are all over the headlines, as both OEMs prepare for the launches of their new devices. While Meizu has the flagship Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus lined up, Xiaomi have something a bit more subdued in the pipes, with their new mid-range device, the 5X, set for imminent launch. New information has surfaced that points towards both devices sharing the same launch date—July 26.
The 5X was previously reported to be the first device in Xiaomi's new Lanmi product line—the X1. These days, though, no one knows what the OEM is thinking, as several conflicting tips from various sources has made the device a bit less enticing than previously thought. The 5X is said to be powered by a Snapdragon 625, with the Snapdragon 660 possibly being on a more powerful variant. It features a 5.5" FHD display, dual rear cameras, and up to 6/64GB.
The Meizu Pro 7 features a 5.2" FHD display, MediaTek's Helio X30, a 2" secondary display at the back, and up to 8GB of RAM.
The Meizu Pro 7 Plus, on the other hand, sports a 5.7" QHD display. It was reported to be powered by Samsung's Exynos 8895 SoC but that's beginning to look unlikely.
