While the Xbox Wireless Controller will be missing out on the new translucent top plates available for the Elite 2 controller, it now comes in a new special edition that's see-through. The Xbox Wireless Controller - Ghost Cipher Special is a mix of translucent plastic, bronze triggers, and gray grips.

Alongside the new translucent faceplates for the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, Xbox has also announced a new special edition Xbox Wireless Controller. The Xbox Wireless Controller - Ghost Cipher has a transparent clear top case that lets you see the silver internals.

The controller has a metallic bronze D-pad and triggers while the rest of the buttons and thumbsticks are gray. It also comes with rubberized ash gray back grips and a white back. The new special edition joins the Sky Cipher Special Edition (curr. $65 on Amazon) announced in July as the two transparent options available for the Xbox Wireless Controller.

Save for the color scheme, the controller is no different from the standard edition. It connects via Bluetooth and not only works with the Xbox Series S/X, but is also compatible with Windows 10/11 PCs and mobile phones and tablets running Android or iOS. You can also use it with a compatible Fire TV Stick for Xbox Cloud Gaming.

The Xbox Wireless Controller – Ghost Cipher Special Edition has a price tag of $69.99 and is available for pre-order on Xbox.com. It will be released on October 8, 2024.
