Xbox One S All-Digital Edition apparently coming soon, Fortnite Edition in the cards as well
Gaming completely in the cloud might not be that far ahead of us, but before we reach the point where all the processing power we use to game is not around us, discless consoles are the next natural step to be taken. In the past, we heard quite a few rumors concerning an upcoming Microsoft console that replaces the locally-stored games with streamed content, but now it looks like this product might be closer to launch than most would think.
According to insiders familiar with the matter who spoke to Windows Central, "Microsoft is reportedly set to call the discless Maverick console the “Xbox One S All-Digital Edition,” with preorders aiming for mid-April 2019, and with general availability coming in early May 2019." The same sources also said that this product could get a near-global simultaneous launch.
The even more exciting part — at least for those who are really into Fortnite — is that a custom Fortnite Edition console could also arrive in the coming months. The problem is that nothing is clear about it, so it might be a regular Xbox One S, an Xbox One X, or even a custom version of the discless All-Digital Edition.
For now, all the above should be taken with a grain of salt, but the official confirmation could be only a few weeks away. Would you get the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition at launch or simply wait for the issues that could plague the first generation to be ironed out first?
