XMG has unveiled the APEX 15 M21, a 15.6-inch gaming laptop with a choice of AMD and NVIDIA hardware. The 361 x 258 x 29 mm laptop weighs 2.2 kg, making it relatively thick and heavy as 15.6-inch gaming laptops go. Nonetheless, the APEX 15 M21 packs plenty of power under the hood and is powered by a 230 W power supply.
Specifically, XMG offers the APEX with a Ryzen 7 5800H or a Ryzen 9 5900HX, Zen APUs with 8-cores and 54 W TDPs. XMG has complemented these APUs with the GeForce RTX 3060 or GeForce RTX 3070, two powerful GPUs based on NVIDIA's Ampere architecture. For reference, the GeForce RTX 3060 offers 6 GB of GDDR6 VRAM and a 115 W TGP with 15 W Dynamic Boost. By contrast, the GeForce RTX 3070 has 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM and a 125 W TGP augmented by 15 W Dynamic Boost.
There is only one display option, a 1080p panel that runs at 144 Hz with a 300 cd/m² peak brightness and 90% sRGB coverage. All models come with dual DDR4 SO-DIMM slots, dual M.2 2280 connections and a 49 Wh Li-poly battery. The APEX 15 M21 also includes the following ports:
Left:
- USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A
- USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A
- DC-in
Rear:
- USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C (DisplayPort 1.4: yes, G-SYNC compatible | Power Delivery: no)
- RJ45 2.5 Gbit Port (LAN)
- HDMI 2.1 (with HDCP 2.3)
- Mini DisplayPort 1.4 (G-SYNC compatible)
Right:

- Headphone-out (Smartphone headset compatible)

The XMG APEX 15 M21 will be available from the beginning of October, and from the end of November for Ryzen 9 5900HX SKUs. The entry-level model starts at €1,439 and has a Ryzen 7 5800H, 8 GB of RAM and a 250 GB M.2 SSD, but no OS. You can configure the APEX 15 M21 freely though, with some configurations topping out at nearly €5,000.
