The finger makes the difference. The U Feel is a new mainstream smartphone from the French manufacturer Wiko. Two highlights are the design and the fingerprint scanner, which can trigger different actions depending on the finger. Read our review to see what the smartphone is capable of.

The U Feel Fab has been a very enjoyable smartphone to use during the review period, on surface you might view it as another huge screen smartphone made affordable but otherwise, this seem to be a smartphone that Wiko has really taken seriously, the phone is fast and reliable, comes with great battery life and most surprisingly, a rather capable camera which I will definitely like to use in road trips. At RM799, this might be a little overpriced for what it offers on paper, while the certainty of future software updates is still unknown, you might just want to look past all of that if you want a phone with a huge screen that offers a great battery life and camera.

Wiko U Feel Prime
Wiko is back with its U Feel Prime. The latest addition to the Prime line-up proves not to be a disappointing mid-range smartphone. In the Prime series, the French smartphone manufacturing company focuses on build without negotiating substance. On first sight, the U Feel feels great to the grip. It is sleek in its design and its compact size makes one-handed operation a comfortable experience. The dimensions of the A5 measure at 142.5 x 69.9 x 8.7 mm and it weighs 150 g (with battery). It is equipped with an impressive 5-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a pixel density of 441 ppi. This makes viewing images and watching videos a pleasure on this device. Furthermore, Wiko aims to improve its usability even in broad daylight thanks to 460 nits brightness and Full Lamination ensures optimal colors and contrasts. It is also noted that U Feel strives to keep the screen almost borderless (on the left and right sides) in order to maximize reading and viewing angles.
Performance-wise, it is powered by the remarkable octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor with 4 GB RAM. The Snapdragon 400 series processor is rather odd for a mid-range device but it should be sufficient for normal usage. With LTE connection, this smartphone’s performance is snappy and responsive. The internal storage of the U Feel Prime has the capacity of 32 GB and the storage capacity can be expanded by up to 96 GB with a microSD card. Its 13 MP Sony rear facing snapper combined with a 8 MP front camera boosts its capacity of delivering crystal-clear photos with multiple functions and modes. The rear facing camera has the Sony IMX 258 sensor and 5P lens with blue optical filter, which is capable of capturing high resolution images with improved color shading. Selfie taking is a breeze on its 8 MP front-facing camera. A fingerprint sensor fitted on board allows gestures to be easily customized for unlocking purposes and ID recognition, thus improving security and convenience. Users may customize gestures up to 5 settings, from protecting sensitive files with Apps Lock to opening Instagram with the index finger. Wiko’s UI aims to keep the main screen more clutter-free. The My Smart Left Page allows user access to 80 percent of his daily usage all on one screen with a simple swipe. Its funky Wikojis widgets add more fun to suit users’ personalities. With a 3000 mAh battery, it is capable of talk time of up to 21h (on 3G). The three color variants available are silver, anthracite and gold. The U feel Prime is a good choice for a smartphone but due to its low end processor, it might not do too well with multitasking and handling heavier apps. Competing devices from Huawei and Xiaomi might be a better choice.

Wiko:
Wiko SAS was founded as a French smartphone manufacturer in 2011. Since 2014, the Chinese technology group Tinno Mobile has owned a majority of Wiko. They produce in China. The company has already reached a considerable market share in the French market in early years and expanded to Europe and Africa later on. Nevertheless, the world market share is low.
Reviews are only available since 2014, that is since the first international expansion. Recently, the number of reviews has increased. The ratings are average (as of 2016).

It is a very small display format for smartphones. You should by no means be mis-sighted and you will generally see very little on the screen and only have a small resolution available. In return, the device should be very small and handy.

75.31%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
