Reviews for the BQ Aquaris V
Surprise! The mid-range smartphone Aquaris V from BQ surprises with its accurate GPS module and fast WLAN. However, we did not expect the comparatively low processor performance. So is it a positive or a negative surprise?

Comment
Model: The BQ Aquaris V smartphone recently released, is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 MSM8940 eight-core processor, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. The pre-installed Android version is hardly modified. With as size of 73.0 x 148.1 x 8.4 mm, which allows one-handed use, and a weight of 165 grams, it is a very handy model. The design of the Aquaris V is not particularly exceptional in the face of some direct competition. It is the kind of design that is simple and very discreet. However, it has been thought and improved subtlety. Looking at the slight curvature of the rear face, or the way the plastic portions hug the metal panel, it shows that the brand emphasizes on simple design. Made of metal, the smartphone is available in two finishes, which are black and gold. The Aquaris V has NFC technology for contactless payments or pairing, a fingerprint reader, 4G LTE network access and fast loading Qualcomm QuickCharge. The battery of the Aquaris V BQ is 3,100 mAh with fast load and the charger is included. It allows usage of one day without any major problems. The operating system is the modern Android Nougat and the screen features Always On features with notifications, information and various commands on a monochrome screen to help conserve battery power. It is upgradable to the latest version of Android, which is Android Oreo.
The quality of the camera of the Aquaris V is the most exciting aspect of the Spanish device. It includes a 12-megapixel camera signed by Sony that has a f/2.0. The Sony sensor is of solid quality and seems to have a positive performance in terms of focus capture and image quality. With fully manual controls, quick adjustments, and the invaluable option of focusing and then dragging the photometry point to get a correct exposure, this is the kind of came app that is rarely found. Recording can be done at 1080p but without stabilization. The front sensor, which has its own flash, which is appreciated when doing selfies, is 8 MP with f/2.0. The screen is a 5.5 inch IPS display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and is protected by Dinorex glass. Dinorex glass is not widely used, but it is almost as good as the more common Gorilla Glass. It does not scratch easily and can take some light falls. That being said, it is still better if it is protected by some kind of tempered glass or casing. This smartphone comes with IP52 Dust and Waterproof Resistance certificates, something that is always appreciated. The Aquaris V Plus has Dual SIM capability, which means that users can insert two different SIM cards and use them both from one phone. The BQ Aquaris V might be stuck in a market which is already saturated with mid-range devices, but it ticks all the right boxes for the typical mid-range user.

5.20":
This display is quite big for a smartphone but frequently used for smartphones.
Large display-sizes allow higher resolutions. So, details like letters are bigger. On the other hand, the power consumption is lower with small screen diagonals and the devices are smaller, more lightweight and cheaper.
» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.0.165 kg:
Only few smartphones are more lightweight than this.
