MagyarUgreen Nexode RG: The cutest USB-C charger ever goes on sale (with Hands-on)
Ugreen has launched a new charger that definitely stands out from the mass of charging solutions on the market. The new Nexode RG 65W USB-C charger, also available in Europe starting today, comes in the form of a small robot.
The Ugreen Nexode RG (RobotGaN) was designed by Canyu Yang, who not only wanted to focus on functionality with the new charger but also wanted to create an emotional connection. The result is a small robot whose legs are the power plug, which is inserted into removable feet as a stand solution. This means that the charger makes a good impression even when it is not in use.
When plugged into a socket, the RobotGaN comes to life. The display then shows various facial expressions depending on the current charging status. The oversized head, which houses the charging circuits with a maximum output of 65 W and efficient GaN technology, also features a black headset. The three charging ports are located in the headband: two USB-C ports with up to 65 W (USB-C 1) and 30 W (USB-C 2) and one USB-A port with up to 22.5 W.
The new Ugreen Nexode RG 65W USB-C charger is available now and can be ordered from Ugreen as well as Amazon (alternatively at Amazon.ca). The recommended retail price is 49.99 euros.
Ugreen Nexode RG hands-on
The cute Nexode RG 65W charger has been with me for the past few days. It definitely looks great and is ideal for children's rooms, for example, where a USB charger is needed.
The stand adheres magnetically to the stretcher, but I would like it to be a little more secure. There is a slight risk of it getting lost during transportation. The facial expressions on the display when charging are cute.
Personally, I would have liked to be able to switch between different views using the touchscreen or a small button to see the current charging speed. It would be practical to be able to use a display in a charger for this purpose as well. Of course, the design of the Necode RG is the main focus.
The Nexode RG 65W USB-C charger is definitely the cutest charging solution I've come across so far. The following hands-on photos provide more impressions.
