With UniFi Industrial, Ubiquiti further expands into the professional market for rugged networking equipment. Because these products are fanless, they are intended to be particularly reliable. The UCG Industrial is the first product already on the market, and more are in development.

Ubiquiti has launched a new product category within the UniFi ecosystem. With UniFi Industrial, the company wants to offer products that are especially rugged and highly reliable. The first product in the lineup is the so-called Cloud Gateway Industrial (UCG Industrial), which is launching at $579 and is already available for purchase.

For that price, users get a very rugged and passively cooled router with a range of built-in features. For example, the UCG Industrial sports multiple PoE+++ ports rated at 90 watts, and the router has a total power budget of 270 watts. With a stock power of 28 watts, the gateway requires decent heat dissipation. Like many other brands, Ubiquiti addresses this potential issue with a metal enclosure that utilizes a large finned surface area for cooling. This also contributes to a weight of 5.3 lb, not including options such as feet or mounting hardware. A stand is included by default and can be swapped with handles to place the Ubiquiti router vertically.

There is also a rack-mount kit for $59 that adds a traditional rack ear and a support surface for the external power supply, which allows the UCG Industrial to fit in 1U rack shelves. The router also supports wireless connections up to WiFi 7 (802.11be). However, it lacks the 6GHz band that was introduced with WiFi 6E.

Ubiquiti UCG Industrial comes with remote SIM card slots

Moreover, there are two SIM card slots in the chassis, but this feature is not available yet and is expected to arrive in a later update. At that point, the UniFi 5G Max Outdoor modem can be connected. The idea is that the SIM cards stay in the gateway where they are easy to swap, while the outdoor modem is installed in a hard-to-reach but higher location. The modem’s SIM slots can then remain empty. Ubiquiti calls this feature Remote SIM. The modem will also need a software update for this.

On the networking side, the router includes an SFP+ cage for transceivers or DAC, one 10GbE RJ45 port and four 2.5GbE ports. It also has the usual UniFi Gateway features for integrating cameras and other devices. Additionally, there is a microSD card slot for storage and 3GB RAM.

Besides the gateway, several other UniFi Industrial products are planned to join this new lineup. The video suggests that Ubiquiti will also offer switches and access points with external antennas. Ubiquiti will likely have a large booth at MWC 2026 in Barcelona this year, so these new UCG Industrial products will likely be on display. There may also be a preview of the other products.
