Sony may have to compensate up to 4.4 million players.
Sony has preliminarily agreed to a $7.85 million settlement over claims that it monopolized digital PlayStation game sales by barring third-party download codes. Around 4.4 million eligible US users could receive PSN credit or cash if the court grants final approval on October 15.

Owing to allegations of an illegal monopoly over digital game sales, Sony is facing a substantial payout to PlayStation users if an ongoing class-action lawsuit
