The Toyota FT-3e and FT-Se concept electric vehicles have been teased ahead of their official unveiling later this month. The FT-3e is an SUV with an unusual digital display on the car's exterior. The FT-Se is a sporty coupe with an aerodynamic design and "next-generation cockpit".

Toyota has revealed the first details for its new FT-3e and FT-Se concept EVs. The models will debut at the Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo, starting on October 26. Toyota suggests it wants to use technology to deliver a personalized experience for the driver, such as providing information about the local area.

The FT-3e is an SUV with an angular design and LED light strip across the rear of the EV. An exterior digital display is fixed on the side of the car, showing metrics like battery charge level, interior temperature and air quality. Toyota indicates that the information will be displayed as the driver approaches the EV. The FT-Se is a sportier two-door performance model, with its development drawing on insights from Toyota Gazoo Racing. While this EV shares its main components with the FT-3e, the company has focused on improving handling and aerodynamics for the FT-Se.

Though it doesn't provide further details, Toyota has teased a "next-generation cockpit" for the coupe. The instrument panel will be set low for enhanced viability, and knee pads will help lower G-forces' effect on the body. Toyota has yet to share details of the Powertrain for the FT-3e and the FT-Se; the EVs are expected to start shipping by the end of 2025.
