Deal | This Lenovo Yoga laptop sports 24 GB RAM, and is now $390 off for a limited time

It is hardly surprising that the ongoing RAM and storage pricing crisis has affected laptops the most. As a result, OEMs including Lenovo have increased prices to keep up with their costs. Even then, attractive offers continue to pop up every now and then.
For instance, the recently launched 14-inch Lenovo Yoga 7a 2-in-1 laptop is now available with a major $390 discount on Lenovo's official online store. This brings the price of the laptop down to just $1,209.99. To be more precise, this specific variant boasts 24 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, 1 TB SSD and an OLED display.

Lenovo Yoga 7a: Decent mid-range performance, lots of memory
At its core, the Lenovo Yoga 7a 2-in-1 is powered by the new AMD Ryzen AI 7 445 "Gorgon" APU. This six-core APU is decently powerful and can keep up with the Intel Core Ultra 7 355 in multi-core synthetic benchmarks. Disappointingly, however, due to it featuring two fewer cores, the last-gen Ryzen AI 7 350 is 20% faster, while Apple's M5 is almost 40% faster in similar tests.

As revealed by our detailed review of the 16-inch variant of the laptop, its OLED panel is quite a treat for the eyes. The panel covers 100% of the sRGB and 99.9% P3 color gamut, which is quite impressive. Once calibrated, colour accuracy is also pretty decent, making it a solid choice for creative work. Its peak brightness of just around 290 nits is extremely disappointing and is definitely a pain to use outdoors.
The Lenovo Yoga laptop is not without flaws
There's no option for a discrete GPU, which is to be expected. The AMD Radeon 840M iGPU is decent enough for extremely lightweight tasks. For high-end workloads and triple-A gaming, the 840M is unlikely to be able to keep up. For reference, the Intel Arc 140V iGPU was over 50% faster in our Cyberpunk 2077 test.
The RAM is not user upgradable at all, and is soldered to the mainboard. The storage is upgradable, but can only accommodate smaller M.2 2242 SSDs.
The I/O on offer is acceptable, featuring the following ports:
- MicroSD reader
- Dual USB-C (10 Gbps with DisplayPort 1.4a, Power Delivery)
- USB-A (5 Gbps)
- 3.5 mm audio jack
- HDMI 2.1 (4K 60Hz)
Laptop buyers looking for a potent machine with a good display and lots of memory, will likely be quite satisfied with the Lenovo Yoga 7a 2-in-1 laptop, provided that the mediocre brightness and lack of upgradable memory can be looked past.
