The leaker CoinX - formerly known as CoinCoin - has returned to Twitter after a lengthy absence. This account appears to exist in order to issue very occasional tips about upcoming devices to be released by Apple. However, its few posts have been 100% correct in the past. Now, it has tackled the subject of new iPads in 2019.
CoinX has asserted that 2 of these tablets will be unveiled shortly. One will be a model with a 10.5-inch screen, so as to succeed the 2017 device of the same form-factor. This is where familiar iPad territory ends. The leaker also alleges that the classic variant with a 9.7-inch screen will be ditched this year. Instead, Apple will release a slate with a 10.2-inch display.
According to CoinX, these 2 new SKUs will not be released at the same time. In addition, an earlier tweet from the same account states that the iPad Mini "is not dead", even though the 9.7 option apparently is. This, in fact, may be an encouraging indication that Apple has managed to fit a larger screen into the typical footprint of its smaller non-pro iPad. However, we will have to wait at least 12 days from now (March 13, 2019) to verify these claims.
