The Poco F1 rocked the world when it was launched back in 2018, with its incredible performance to price ratio setting up the young Poco brand for greatness. Two years after, that greatness is yet to be seen, but the upcoming Poco X3 may be a return to what fans expected Poco to represent.

Poco is gearing up to launch its next device, the Poco X3. The Poco X3 will slot in beneath the Poco F2 Pro as the company's sub-premium offering. That doesn't sound particularly interesting but the Poco X3 also appears to be something special compared to other devices in the brand's current lineup.

After launching the Poco F1 back in 2018, Poco went under the radar for a long while before resurging with the Poco X2 at the start of the year. There was one problem with that, though: the Poco X2 wasn't new at all and was only just a rebadged Redmi K30. The Poco F2 Pro was more of the same—a rebadged Redmi K30 Pro; the Poco M2 Pro was also just a rebadged Redmi Note 9 Pro. The Poco X3, however, appears to be different.

From what is known at the moment, the Poco X3 will sport a 6.67-inch 120 Hz LCD, a 5160 mAh battery, a 64 MP camera, and a Snapdragon 732G. More importantly, no current Xiaomi or Redmi phone offers such specifications. The Poco X3 will likely be a brand new phone, the first of such from the company since the Poco F1.

Does it matter if Poco only serves as a means for Xiaomi to offer the same device with a different crest for more markets? At the end, no. But the Poco F1 was such an incredibly convincing device that it's starting to feel like Poco as a brand is almost irrelevant and should do better. If priced appropriately, the Poco X3 could set things straight. Unless, of course, Xiaomi blindsides us all with a new device with the exact same specs—the Mi 10T, perhaps?
