The OnePlus Pad could hit shelves in India sometime in H1, 2022 ↺
Despite being a major player in the smartphone market for the better part of the decade, OnePlus has still chosen to stay away from the lucrative tablet market- quite unlike its compatriots such as Xiaomi and Realme. Earlier this year (2021), OnePlus had registered a trademark for the 'OnePlus Pad', suggesting that it could be launched sometime in the pipeline. Now, 91mobiles has learned through trusty Twitter leaker @Stufflistings that the OnePlus Pad is real.
As is the case with most Chinese-origin products, we can expect the OnePlus Pad to make its debut in China. The report adds that the tablet could hit shelves in India initially sometime in H1, 2022. Furthermore, it will not be unveiled alongside the OnePlus 10 series, indicating that it could see the light of day sometime in Q2, 2022. Little more is known about its innards at the moment. In all likelihood, the OnePlus Pad could be a rebranded version of Oppo's tablet that is in the works.
For those out of the loop, an earlier leak prophesized that Oppo's first-ever tablet would pack a 120Hz AMOLED screen, a Snapdragon 870 SoC, 6GB RAM, 256GB storage and a 7,000mAh battery. With these specs, OnePlus can easily charge US$500 for its tablet, which will take on entry-level offerings from Samsung and Xiaomi. One can only hope that OnePlus launches the OnePlus Pad globally shortly after India and China.
